Certainly one of the smallest “commercial” vineyards in Oregon, Rattlesnake Butte is nestled under the rock outcrop of the same name in southernmost Oregon. The vineyard totals one acre, 1800 vines, divided between Merlot and Tempranillo grapes. The site is southwest facing on a 8-10 degree slope 1200 feet from Emigrant Lake. The vines were planted in 1999 and production yields about 130-150 cases per year.
